Prunus dulcis · pressed at High-altitude orchards, Jammu & Kashmir
Almond Oil
बदाम तेल
Sweet, edible, and expensive for a good reason: it takes just over three kilos of almonds to fill one hundred millilitres. Cold pressed, unrefined, with no fragrance added.

Hand-shelled by the growing families themselves.
Most almond oil sold in India is cosmetic grade and solvent-extracted. It is not meant to be swallowed, and the label usually says so in very small type.
We shell by hand, sort out anything bitter, and press at thirty-six degrees. Yield is the lowest of anything we make. It is a slow, quiet, slightly uneconomical press, and it produces an oil that is genuinely edible.
This is the badam tel of the old Unani pharmacies: sweet almond oil, unrefined, safe to take by the spoon.
